The tremendous buzz around Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna , coupled with historic advance booking reports from all over the country, and even overseas, suggest that the Karan Johar magnum opus may well turn out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year.

Even before the film's worldwide release on Friday, there was a huge buzz around the film, which was evident from the historic advance booking for the film all over India as well as overseas.

Factors like the huge starcast of the film, its unique storyline, catchy promos and its songs like 'Mitwa', 'Where's the party tonight' and 'Rock and Roll Soniye' created a huge buzz around the film, resulting in unprecedented rush in advance bookings for the film.

Featuring an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan , Abhishek Bachchan , Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee , 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' has also evoked a lot of curiosity due to its novel storyline.

Adding to the buzz for the film are its songs like 'Where's the Party tonight' picturised on Abhishek and Preity in the film, as also the ''Rock and Roll Sonie'' song picturised on Amitabh, Abhishek and Preity, which are already a huge rage among all sections, specially the youth and the children.

No wonder, theatres across the country reported tremendous rush in advance bookings for the film.

Both multiplexes and single screen theatre witnessed phenomenal advance booking.

Trade sources said the advance bookings of the film were full as soon as it opened on Monday.

Infact, almost all the cinema halls in Delhi and Mumbai, both the single screen as well as multiplexes have tickets for an entire week booked in advance considering that this week has two holidays on August 15 and 16 on account of Independence day and Janamashtmi.

Though the advance booking for multiplexes starts from Wednesday or Thursday, booking for 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' at many multiplexes in Delhi opened on Sunday.

The phenomenal rush in advance bookings, coupled with the fact that the film is being released with nearly 1000 prints, makes it a distinct possibility that the film may turn out to be a bigger blockbuster that the recently-released Krrish , which has already netted a gross of over Rs 150 crore in just five weeks of its run.
